Tehran, Iran, May 10 – An Iranian military aircraft crashed on Wednesday in south-west Iran, killing the pilot, the official news agency IRNA reported.

The aircraft, a U.S.-made F-5 fighter jet, came down Wednesday morning near the town of Andimeshk in Khuzistan Province.

The jet had lifted off from a military airbase in the city of Dezful.

The cause of the crash was not yet known, the report said.
