Reuters: Iran’s oil revenue amounted to about $52 billion in the first 11 months of 2007, Iranian media on Saturday quoted a senior oil official as saying. TEHRAN, Dec 23 (Reuters) – Iran’s oil revenue amounted to about $52 billion in the first 11 months of 2007, Iranian media on Saturday quoted a senior oil official as saying.

Hojjatollah Ghanimifard, international affairs director of the National Iranian Oil Company, said the world’s fourth-largest oil exporter on average sells 2.4 million barrels per day.

Iran has made windfall gains from the high oil price in recent years and has previously said it expects to earn about $70 billion from oil exports in the year to March 2008. Iran earned about $60 billion from its crude sales in the Iranian year that ended in March 2007.

“Generally the export of crude oil is different from time to time depending on the season,” Ghanimifard said in comments carried by Kayhan and other Iranian dailies. “The average amount of daily exports is 2.4 million barrels.” (Reporting by Reza Derakhshi; Editing by Richard Hubbard)
