MAKES CHARGE IN NEW AD

By CARL CAMPANILE

ImageJohn McCain is charging that Barack Obama is "dangerously unprepared" to be president for suggesting that terror-sponsor Iran is not a serious threat to America.

The 30-second ad released yesterday mocks a speech in which Obama says "Iran, Cuba, Venezuela – these countries are tiny compared to the Soviet Union. They don't pose a serious threat to us the way the Soviet Union posed a threat to us."

The ad is particularly aimed at raising doubts about Obama among Jewish voters.

Footage in the spot shows a sign reading "Death to America," a nuclear reactor, Iranian soldiers and the Israel flag.

"Iran. Radical Islamic government. Known sponsors of terrorism,'' the announcer says. "Developing nuclear capabilities to 'generate power' but threatening to eliminate Israel."

"Obama says Iran is a 'tiny' country, `doesn't pose a serious threat.' Terrorism, destroying Israel, those aren't 'serious threats'"?

"Obama – dangerously unprepared to be president," the narrator concludes.

The Obama campaign accused McCain of twisting his comments.

"John McCain is distorting Barack Obama's words to cover up for the fact that it's the failed Bush-McCain approach to foreign policy and the Bush-McCain war in Iraq that have strengthened Iran and endangered Israel," said Obama spokesman Hari Sevugan.
