ImageForeign Affairs Minister Stephen Smith says he is deeply concerned by Iran's continuing failure to stop enriching uranium.

The latest report from the International Atomic Energy Agency says it has failed to make meaningful progress in assessing Iran's past nuclear activities.

It also says Iran is continuing to enrich uranium in defiance of a UN Security Council resolution.

Mr Smith says Australia is exploring what other options it has to encourage Iran to co-operate.

"The Australian Government is considering what further measures it can take within the international community to bring further pressure to bear on Iran," he told Parliament.

"Iran's non-compliance with legally binding United Nations Security Council resolutions are of grave concern to the international community."
