ImageTHE HAGUE, March 30 (Reuters) – U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said on Monday she hoped Iran would pledge help on border security and fighting drugs traffic at a conference on Afghanistan, but had no plans to meet Tehran's delegates.

Clinton played down expectations of her first contacts with Iran's delegation at Tuesday's Afghanistan conference in The Hague. She will be the highest level official in the Obama administration to sit at same table with Iranian officials.

"I have no plans (to meet separately with the Iranians). I can't forecast tomorrow but we are looking forward to everyone playing a constructive role," Clinton told reporters travelling with her to The Hague. (Reporting by Sue Pleming; Editing by Jon Boyle)
