Iran Focus: Tehran, May 28 – Iran and Japan have signed a Memorandum of Understanding for closer economic ties between Tehran and a major Japanese development agency, an Iranian news agency reported on Saturday.

Tehran, May 28 – Iran and Japan have signed a Memorandum of Understanding for closer economic ties between Tehran and a major Japanese development agency, an Iranian news agency reported on Saturday.

Iranian Vice-President for Management and Human Resources Development Lotfollah Forouzandeh signed the 5-paragraph MOU with Japanese officials in Tokyo to establish closer ties between Iran and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).

The state-run news agency FARS reported that JICA’s main aim is to promote international cooperation as well as developing the Japanese and global economy by supporting the socioeconomic development, recovery or economic stability of developing regions.

JICA has previously helped Iran create a strategy for tackling earthquakes.
