London, Mar. 12 – Iran’s Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki arrived in Geneva on Monday to take part in the fourth session of the United Nations Human Rights Council.

Last June, there was international outrage after Tehran’s notorious chief prosecutor Saeed Mortazavi took part in the first session of the Human Rights Council in Geneva. Canada accused Iran of trying to discredit the HRC by sending Mortazavi to the session.

In May, Tehran tried and failed to win a seat in the 47-member Council.

Mottaki will also meet and hold talks with Swiss Foreign Minister Micheline Calmy-Rey during his trip.

He will also take part in Tuesday’s disarmament conference in the Swiss capital.
