Tehran, Iran, Dec. 10 – A woman was hanged in prison in the north-eastern town of Shirvan, according to a state-run news agency.

The woman, only identified as Akram N., was accused of stabbing to another woman to death in 2001, the state-run ISNA news agency reported on Saturday.

The report did not specify when the sentence was carried out.
