Tehran, Iran, Aug. 09 – A young man was hanged in public in the northern Iranian town of Babol, a government-run news agency reported.

The 36-year-old man was identified only as Mehdi Kh., according to the news agency Fars.

He was charged with rape and murder.

Mehdi was hanged in the presence of security forces and a crowd of locals, the report added.
