Qatar and the Iranian Regime Are Politically Similar

London, 29 May – Huda al-Saleh wrote an analysis on Al-Arabiya comparing the Iranian Regime to Qatar. Through his analysis, he found that the two nations have incredibly similar political outlooks, especially with regard to support for terrorism and extremist leaders.

The Iranian Regime supplies money, arms, training and troops to various terrorist cells in the Middle East, including Hamas, Hezbollah, the Houthis and al-Qaeda under the pretence of helping the “vulnerable”.

A stance solidified in article 154 their constitution: “The Islamic Republic of Iran has as its ideal human felicity throughout human society, and considers the attainment of independence, freedom, and rule of justice and truth to be the right of all people of the world. Accordingly, while scrupulously refraining from all forms of interference in the internal affairs of other nations, it supports the just struggles of the mustad’afun (vulnerable) against the mustakbirun (arrogant) in every corner of the globe.”

While Qatar provides political, media and financial support to branches of the Muslim Brotherhood across the Middle East, Central Asia, and North Africa, referring to the terrorist groups as “liberation movements” that seek to overthrow oppressive regimes.

They also support the Houthis, the Shiite opposition in Bahrain, and terrorist attacks in Saudi Arabia.
al-Saleh wrote: “Doha and its decades-long intercontinental relations with extremist and armed radical groups (both Sunni and Shiite) have been a card of interest and influence to secure any position on the global political map.mThis was in addition to the strengthening of Qatar’s presence in Libya in a number of cities, particularly Benghazi, Tripoli and Misurata, through supporting radical Islamic movements such as the Ansar al-Sharia, Fajr-LIBYA, LIFG and various armed groups.”

The situation is so bad that former Tunisian Foreign Minister Touhami Abdouli called for his country to stop doing business with Qatar for fear that the money involved would turn up in corrupt Qatari institutions. This exact problem is being raised by many people and institutions about the Iranian Regime currently.

One of the biggest problems that have arisen from the Qatari support of terrorist groups, is that some groups have combined to form new terror cells, like The ‘Sururism’ Salafi.

Al-Saleh explained: “This combination was formed between the Brotherhood and the Salafist cloak, which was embodied in the trend of Muhammad Surur Zine El Abidine, a former Syrian Muslim Brotherhood member. He is credited with developing the Islamist trend that later came to be known as Sururism. This combination is an approach that explains Doha’s sponsorship of various streams of political Islamist movements such as Hamas, the Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood, the Sururians, and radical jihadist movements, including the Shiite militant movements like Hezbollah in Lebanon.”

In order to prevent the destabilisation of the Middle East, Western Governments and their allies must impose sanctions on countries which support terrorists before more terror cells are formed.
