London, Oct. 05 – U.S. forces in eastern Iraq killed 25 militants in an operation targeting a “Special Groups commander” tied to the Iran’s Revolutionary Guards Friday morning, the Coalition announced.

“Coalition forces were targeting a Special Groups commander believed to be associated with members of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard – Quds Force”, the Multi-National Force – Iraq (MNF-I) said in a statement.

“Intelligence indicates that he was responsible for facilitating criminal activity and is involved in the movement of various weapons from Iran to Baghdad”, it added.

The operation took place west of the city Baqubah.
