Iraq PM to vist Iran on Monday

AFP: Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki will visit Iraq’s former foe Iran for two days from Monday to discuss security and political issues, his spokesman Ali al-Dabagh said in a statement on Saturday. BAGHDAD, Sept 9, 2006 (AFP) – Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki will visit Iraq’s former foe Iran for two days from Monday to discuss security and political issues, his spokesman Ali al-Dabagh said in a statement on Saturday.

“Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki will pay a cordial visit to the Islamic Republic of Iran for two days starting Monday,” Dabagh said.

He said the visit will focus on “security and political relations besides developing and promoting bilateral relations.”
