Tehran, Iran, Oct. 04 – Iranian authorities have arrested more than a dozen Iraqi nationals illegally crossing into Iranian waters, state media reported.

Fourteen Iraqis managed to cross into Iranian territory by boat but they were arrested halfway down Bahman-Shir River, near the oil-city of Abadan, earlier this week.

The report said that the group had hoisted an Iranian flag on their vessel in order to avoid being identified as illegal aliens.
