Zebari was quoted as saying that he would make a trip to Iran after the Muslim holy month of Ramadan, which began on September 22.
The Iraqi Foreign Minister made the announcement after a meeting in Baghdad with Iranian ambassador Hassan Kazemi Qomi.
Qomi, who until recently was Iran’s charge d’affaires in Iraq, is a veteran officer of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps and was once the IRGCs liaison to Hezbollah in Lebanon.
