Tehran, Iran, Feb. 28 The Chairman of Irans State Expediency Council (SEC), Ayatollah Ali Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani, has kept his top post in the constitutional body that arbitrates in disputes between Irans parliament and the Guardians Council.
In a decree, Irans Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, appointed a new board of members to the SEC on Tuesday. The councils 44 members are appointed for five-year terms.
Rafsanjani, a former president of Iran, has been chairman of the SEC for two consecutive terms.
