Tehran, Iran, Oct. 24 – Iran’s Minister of Economy and Finance said earlier this week that “financial terrorism” by the United States against Iran had failed, state media reported on Tuesday.

“The efforts of the big powers to weaken Iran’s economy have failed”, Davoud Danesh-Jaafari told a meeting of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank in New York on Monday. His remarks were reported by the government-owned news agency Fars.

He accused the West of using international monetary instruments against Tehran.

“If big powers continue to prevent Iran from its business and financial rights, no country in the world will trust the international business and financial system, and countries will not sit idly while this behaviour by the big powers which we should call financial terrorism continues”, Danesh-Jaafari said.
