Iran Focus: Tehran, Iran, Nov. 28 – Iran launched on Wednesday on its southern shores its second domestically-produced light submarine, state media reported.

Tehran, Iran, Nov. 28 – Iran launched on Wednesday on its southern shores its second domestically-produced light submarine, state media reported.

The submarine can simultaneously fire torpedoes and missiles, the government-owned news agency Fars said without specifying their range.

“The Iranian Navy is equipped with all the necessary modern weaponry, including missiles”, Iran’s Navy commander Admiral Habibollah Sayyari told state television.

The new light submarine is “equipped with advanced weapons and electronics systems”, he said.

The submarine has been named “Ghadir”.
