Iran Focus: Tehran, Iran, Sep. 12 – At least 15 people were killed on Friday when a bus veered off a bridge on a highway west of the Iranian capital Tehran.

Tehran, Iran, Sep. 12 – At least 15 people were killed on Friday when a bus veered off a bridge on a highway west of the Iranian capital Tehran.

The accident occurred on a stretch of road from Khorramabad to Karaj, state television said.

State media reported that 14 other people were injured in the crash.

Iran's highways are considered to be among the most dangerous in the world, with some 100,000 road-accident deaths occurring in the last five years, the equivalent of three deaths an hour.
