EU not qualified for nuclear talks – Iran commander

Reuters: Iran's armed forces chief of staff said on Wednesday the European Union was not qualified to hold talks over the country's disputed nuclear programme after what he called its interference in the Islamic state's affairs.

TEHRAN (Reuters) – Iran's armed forces chief of staff said on Wednesday the European Union was not qualified to hold talks over the country's disputed nuclear programme after what he called its interference in the Islamic state's affairs.

"Because of the interference of this group in the post-election riots … they have lost their qualification to hold nuclear talks with Iran," Hassan Firouzabadi was quoted as saying by the semi-official Fars news agency.

"Before apologising for their huge mistake … they (the EU) have no right to talk about nuclear negotiations," he added.
