Tehran, Jan. 11 – Iranian Defense Minister Brigadier General Ahmad Vahidi claimed on Sunday that Tehran’s missile capabilities are beyond comprehension for Iran’s enemies, state media reported.

"The deterrent power of the Islamic Republic of Iran's missiles goes beyond the enemies' imagination", Vahidi announced in a visit to a missile command centre of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps – Navy, the state-run Fars news agency reported.

“The deterrent power of the Islamic Republic of Iran in different aspects, including its missile equipments, serves as a means of attaining national and regional security and blinding the greedy eyes of the aggressors and repelling the possible aggression of the sworn enemies of the Islamic Republic", Vahidi said.

In recent years Iranian authorities have put a great deal of financial and technical effort into developing their missile systems. During two days of missile wargames in September of last year, Tehran further tested its Shahab-3 missile which has a range of up to 2,000 kilometres.

Ahmad Vahidi is currently wanted by Interpol for his role in the bombing of a Jewish community centre in Buenos Aires in 1994.
