Reuters: Azerbaijan pledged to deepen energy cooperation with neighbouring Iran on Wednesday, signing a memorandum of cooperation with Tehran on gas supplies and electricity swaps.

BAKU, Nov 17 (Reuters) – Azerbaijan pledged to deepen energy cooperation with neighbouring Iran on Wednesday, signing a memorandum of cooperation with Tehran on gas supplies and electricity swaps.

“This document envisages deepening cooperation between our countries,” Azeri President Ilham Aliyev said after the signing ceremony in Baku. (Reporting by Lada Yevgrashina; Writing by Matt Robinson; Editing by Guy Faulconbridge)
