TEHRAN, Iran (AP) — Iran’s semiofficial Fars news agency is reporting Iran plans to send more humanitarian aid to North Korea.

The two nations are allies. Both are under fire for their nuclear programs.

The Monday report says head of Iran’s Red Crescent, Abolhasan Faghih, told an official of North Korean Red Cross, that Iran will purchase food items including powdered milk from China and ship them to North Korea.

He said Iran would also send medical items and relief to North Korea.

The West suspects Iran and North Korea have been cooperating on missile technology.

North Korea has already distributed blankets and tents from Iran, said the Red Cross official, Paek Yong Ho. He said that his country may need more help, with heavy rainstorms forecast for the coming months.
