Will There Be a US-Iran Confrontation?

London, 7 Jun – Rumours are circulating about a possible confrontation between the United States and Iran, with Syria being the launch site. It cannot be denied that US President Donald Trump has increased his harsh rhetoric towards Iran with the recent visit to Saudi Arabia.

Even before he was elected, Trump slammed the 2015 nuclear deal, saying that it was the worst deal that could have been agreed. During his recent trip to the Saudi kingdom, Trump spoke about the Iranian regime’s malign activities and said that the people of Iran deserve to have freedom and human rights.

The US-led coalition is taking steps to counter the Iranian threat and Syria plays a big part in this. Syria is of great strategic importance to Iran, and the Iranian regime has made no secret of this. It has propped Bashar al Assad up for years, so much so that the civil war in the country would have ended years ago if it had not been for the involvement of Iranian forces.

Even the Supreme Leader of Iran, Ali Khamenei, has spoken about the role of Syria for the regime.

He said: “Had the ill-wishers and plotters not been prevented from their evil deeds in Syria we would have to prevent them in the Iranian provinces of Tehran, Fars, Khorasan and Isfahan, so it is better we do it there. The door for martyrdom, which was closed by the end of the war with Iraq, is now open in Syria.”

Iran has a long history of deception and is known to be rogue state. It is involved in the internal affairs of nations all over the Middle East and it has been involved in very serious war crimes that have caused numerous civilian deaths. Iran is focused on dominating the Middle East and will not let up on its quest for control.

The President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, has devised a three-step plan that she advises should be the next step for all countries to take.

Firstly, Rajavi calls for the designation of the country’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) as a terrorist group.

Secondly, she would like to see the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) banish the regime from the organisation and give its place to the Iranian Resistance.

The last step is the overthrow of the Iranian regime, which Rajavi claims is essential in order for freedom and democracy to be granted to the people of Iran.
