Iran Protests Bring Regime’s Evil Allies Crawling out of Woodwork

London, 4 Jan – As protests in Iran continue to grow in size and strength, many around the world are supporting the Iranian people’s call for freedom from a brutal regime but a select few are concerned about the survival of the mullah’s regime in Iran and are releasing fake news to malign the Iranian people.

The latter includes the Syrian Regime and its dictator, Bashar al-Assad, who owe their very survival to the Iranian Regime. The Regime sent their Revolutionary Guards and one of its key commanders Qassem Soleimani into Syria with mercenaries, terrorist proxies, and arms to suppress the Syrian people’s organised resistance on behalf of Assad. This prolonged the war well past its natural end, cost countless lives, and kept a Regime that poisoned its own people in power.

Now it is time for Syria’s Regime to repay the favour and help to discredit and suppress the Iranian people. A source at Syrian foreign ministry told the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) that the Iranian people’s revolt as a “conspiracy” to weaken “the axis of resistance in the region”.

It is not odd that Syria did this. It is merely an echo of what Iran has been doing for them since 2011. Discredit people’s resistance, prop up the brutal regime, and repeat.

It also includes the terrorist proxy Hezbollah, which the Iranian Regime helped to turn into a quasi-political force in Lebanon and even get elected.

What has Hezbollah done in response to these protests? Created a disgusting hashtag for its supporters which translates to “I support the Guardianship of the Islamic Jurist.”

It is worth noting that the Regime is scared of its people and of their populist revolt, which is why they are calling in favours from their deadly allies. They are scared because the people have right on their side.

Saudi journalist and presenter Mashari Althaydi wrote an op-ed for Al Arabiya in which he addressed that weak messages from the EU are not helping the Iranian people. Federica Mogherini, the EU’s high representative for foreign affairs, said: “We expect that the right to peaceful demonstration and freedom of expression will be guaranteed after President Rouhani’s public statements.”

What planet is she living on? Rouhani is no moderate and does not support peaceful protest. Hundreds have already been arrested and at least 21 killed.

Donald Trump has been more direct, tweeting “The great Iranian people have been repressed for many years… TIME FOR CHANGE!” but there is still the need to do more; whether that’s sanctions or direct support for the protesters.
