Tehran, Iran, Sep. 22 – Iran’s hard-line President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad warned foreign nations on Thursday during a ceremony to mark the 25th anniversary of the Iran-Iraq war that they would have to face the “fiery and destructive” wrath of the Islamic Republic if they ever attempted to launch an attack.

“Our nation with its inherent ability and its military strength, will mar the foreheads of its enemies with the disgrace of aggression”, Ahmadinejad said.

“Those who want to take advantage of our nation’s honour and once again test the already tested should know that the fire of Iran’s wrath is extremely fiery and destructive”, the hard-line former Revolutionary Guards commander warned.

Ahmadinejad, who was speaking before dozens of top Revolutionary Guards and regular army generals, went on to announce that Iran would increase its defence capabilities and industries.

As part of a display of Iran’s military might, six giant Shahab-3 missiles, with an approximate range of 2,000km, were paraded during the ceremony with huge banners tied to them reading “Israel should be wiped off the face of the earth”, “We will trample America under our feet”, “Death to America”, and “Death to Israel”.
