Hundreds of textile workers stage protest near Iran capital

Tehran, Iran, Oct. 09 – More than 400 textile workers sealed off a main road in an industrial town between the city of Qazvin and the Iranian capital Tehran during a protest on Saturday, eye-witnesses reported.

Workers at Far-Nakh va Meh-Nakh Textile Factory in the industrial town of Alborz were protesting overdue wages and government refusal to see to their concerns.

They blockaded the main road to Qazvin for over an hour, before State Security Forces (SSF) were brought in to remove the protesters.

Workers from Far-Nakh va Meh-Nakh have held several similar demonstrations over the past few months for overdue salaries.
