Tehran, Iran, Dec. 27 – The Commandant of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) warned on Monday of the “threats” by foreign and domestic enemies of the Islamic Republic and vowed that his elite military force would stand against such dangers.

Major General Yahya Rahim Safavi told a gathering of IRGC commanders at the site of the former United States embassy in Tehran, “The Revolutionary Guards believe jihad against domestic enemies as one of their primary duties”.

“Our domestic and foreign enemies have not left us alone. … Our enemies are trying to create turmoil and crises in certain parts of the country and they are using the excuse that there exists underdevelopment”, Safavi said.
