Tehran, Iran, Feb. 10 – Iran will buy several dozen surface-to-air missiles from Russia as part of its arsenal to protect its nuclear sites, government-run Persian language websites reported on Friday.

The reports quoted Mikhail Dmitriyev, director of Russia’s Federal Military-Technical Cooperation Service, as saying that some 30 Russian-made Tor M-1 surface-to-air missiles will be bought by Iran for up to 700 million dollars.

The anti-aircraft missiles would protect Iran’s nuclear installations in Isfahan and Bushehr, the reports said, adding that there was also talk of Iran purchasing the more powerful S-300 missiles from Moscow as well.
