Tehran, Oct. 26 – Thousands of young people began a spontaneous anti-government demonstration after a football match on Saturday, clashing with agents of the security forces, eye-witnesses reported.

Clashes began at the end of match between Esteghlal and Persepolis teams in Tehran’s Azadi Stadium. Security forces attacked the protesters, as young people chanted anti-government slogans. In the ensuing clashes, about 200 government-owned buses were damaged.

Streets from the stadium to Shisheh-Minah Factory were strewn with shattered glass.

A large number of young people were arrested and there is no information on their fate.
