Iran Focus: Tehran, Iran, May 31 – Iran’s hardline-dominated Majlis (Parliament) appointed on Wednesday a key ally of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei as Majlis Speaker for a third term.

Tehran, Iran, May 31 – Iran’s hardline-dominated Majlis (Parliament) appointed on Wednesday a key ally of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei as Majlis Speaker for a third term.

Gholam-Hossein Haddad-Adel received 150 of 257 votes to retain his position as speaker.

Haddad-Adel’s daughter is married to the son of Supreme Leader Khamenei.
