Tehran, Iran, Feb. 19 – Iran’s chief nuclear negotiator will meet the director general of the International Atomic Energy Agency Mohamed ElBaradei on Tuesday in Vienna, the official news agency IRNA quoted a top Iranian envoy as saying on Monday.

Ali Larijani, secretary general of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council (SNSC), will head a delegation travelling to the Austrian capital for talks with ElBaradei, Iran’s ambassador to the IAEA Ali-Asghar Soltaniyeh said.

The United Nations Security Council voted unanimously in December to impose sanctions against Tehran for its nuclear defiance. It gave Tehran two months to suspend uranium enrichment and return to the negotiating table.

ElBaradei will likely submit a report on Wednesday to the IAEA Board of Governors and the Security Council stating that Tehran had not adhered to the Council’s demand.

The UN nuclear watchdog chief on Monday told a conference in London that sanctions alone would not suffice in resolving the standoff over Tehran’s nuclear drive.
