Tehran, Iran, May 10 – Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister disavowed an article in the Wednesday edition of the Financial Times which had quoted him as saying that there was a possibility that Iran and the United States could cooperate for developing an “exit strategy” for foreign forces from Iraq.

“My remarks have been misinterpreted”, Abbas Araqchi told reporters as he once again repeated Tehran’s demand that U.S.-led troops leave Iraq.

“I said that the problems in Iraq were deeply rooted in the occupation and that there would be no solution unless that came to an end”, he said.
