Tehran, Iran, Jun. 18 – An earthquake measuring 5.9 on the Richter scale jolted central Iran on Monday, state media reported.

The quake struck near the holy city of Qom at approximately 17.59 local time, the official news agency IRNA said. It was also felt in some parts of the Iranian capital Tehran.

There was no immediate word of any casualties.
