Tehran, Iran, Apr. 19 – Iran’s hard-line President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has appointed Hossein Samsami as acting minister for economic affairs and finance, the state broadcasting company said in a report on its website.

Samsami will today officially take over the post from Davoud Danesh Jafari, it said.

Samsami was until now the secretary of the cabinet's economic committee.

Danesh-Jafari’s replacement as Economy Minister was announced earlier this month by government spokesman Gholam-Hossein Elham.

Danesh-Jafari was previously chairman of the Majlis committee on economy and finance and a leading member of the hard-line Islamist faction, Abadgaran, in the Majlis.

He is also a former member of the Central Command of Jihad Sazandegi, a branch of the Revolutionary Guards.
