Tehran, Iran, Jan. 11 – Iran is constructing 94 giant dams of which five will begin working in March, Iran’s deputy Energy Minister for Water Affairs said.

Mohammad-Reza Attarzadeh made the announcement on Saturday in the southern province of Bushehr.

Some 500 dams (180 giant and 320 small dams) have been constructed in Iran since 1979.
