Tehran, Jun. 02 – Suspected government satellite-interference signals have been transmitted across the central Iranian city of Isfahan to jam dissident satellite broadcasts over the past few days, according to local residents.

Similar disruptions of service have also been reported in the larger Isfahan province (central Iran), with some claiming that regular state broadcasting was also badly affected.

Residents state that every year in the summer period such disruptions occur and suspect that they are state-orchestrated to combat growing dissent, which is being advertised in the satellite programs.

Separately, residents in the southern port city of Bandar Abbass, off the Persian Gulf, reported that State Security Forces have conducted raids on homes in certain districts, confiscating satellite dishes.
