Tehran, Iran, Oct. 02 – Iranian youths attacked and set fire to dozens of buses when an anti-government demonstration broke out after a football match in Tehran on Friday evening, eye-witnesses reported.

The protests erupted as at least 40,000 spectators came to Azadi Stadium to watch the match between Persepolis and Shahid-Ghandi Yazd teams square off.

More than 30 buses were damaged during the protests and police attacked and detained many of the angry demonstrators.

Iranian youths frequently attempt to turn football match celebrations into anti-government demonstrations.
