Tehran, Iran, Nov. 01 – The Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps, the clergy-dominated regime’s elite military force, hailed on Tuesday the anniversary of the takeover of the United States embassy in Tehran and predicted that “it will not take long before we shall witness a world without the illegal regime” of Israel.

On November 4, 1979, a group of Islamist militants led by a close confidant of Ayatollah Khomeini stormed the U.S. embassy in Tehran and held 52 Americans hostage for 444 days. Iran officially commemorates November 4 each year as “the International Day Against the Global Oppressor”.

The IRGC strongly condemned “the recent commotion created by the U.S. and some European countries under the influence of Zionism over the decisive approach of the elected and beloved president of the Iranian nation, who called for the obliteration of the state of Israel”.

“The beastly acts of the occupiers of Qods (Jerusalem) and their unlimited suppression of the Palestinian nation and the Intifada of this oppressed nation will undoubtedly lead to the complete destruction of Israel”, the statement said.

“The seizure of the den of American spies on November 4, 1979, exposed the conspiracies of the Great Satan and the indigenous counterrevolutionaries”, the IRGC statement added, referring to the United States and Iranian political parties opposed to the rule of Islamists led by Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini.

“The embassy seizure taught the Global Oppressor [the United States”> a lesson, because it tries all the time to carry out evil plots to pretend that the Islamic Republic lacks popular support and that there is no internal security in Iran”, the statement noted.

The Revolutionary Guards accused the West of waging “a war of nerves against Islamic Iran”.

“Those who accuse Iran of meddling in its neighbours’ affairs, and claim that its peaceful nuclear technology is a cause of insecurity in the region are the first causes of warmongering and insecurity in this region”.

“Those who claim to be advocates of democracy and humanity are in fact plundering the wealth and resources of the nations in our region. But they should know that the Muslim and revolutionary nation of Iran will never submit to their pressures and conspiracies”.
