Tehran, Iran, Nov. 06 – Protests erupted in the Iranian capital on Saturday following a football match between two of the country’s first-class teams.

The match between Persepolis and Esteghlal football teams was held at Tehran’s Azadi Stadium.

Youths attacked several city buses as they chanted anti-government slogans. A number of buses had their windows smashed, as demonstrators hurled stones and sticks.

Traffic was held up as protestors barricaded roads leading to and from the stadium.
