Iran, Tehran, Nov. 11 – Iran will soon set up a “Metro Police” for underground train stations in the Iranian capital, a Tehran Metro official said in an interview with a state-run news agency on Friday.

Jaafar Rabiee told the Fars news agency that State Security Forces had already set up bases at several busy metro stations.

He did not say the exact date from when the plan would commence.

Iran has a variety of security forces including Hospital Police and University Police.
