Tehran, Iran, Feb. 04 – Iran’s Defence Minister Mostafa Mohammad-Najjar reiterated on Saturday that the Islamic Republic would retaliate to any attack on its nuclear sites “in the most vehement manner”.

Speaking to the state-run ISNA news agency, Mohammad-Najjar said, “Our country’s armed forces are extremely powerful”.

“If there is an attack on our armed forces or our dear country, we will respond in the most vehement manner”, he warned.

The veteran Revolutionary Guards Brigadier General said that the Islamic Republic’s defence capabilities had increased.

He added that foreign threats would not be an obstacle to Tehran obtaining nuclear capabilities.

Mohammad-Najjar went on to say that foreign troops were not needed in the Persian Gulf region.
