The spokesman for the week-long military manoeuvres Iran is holding said that the “Sagheb” missile was capable of being launched from any naval vessel, the state-run news agency Mehr reported.

He said that the “intelligent missile” had “very high speed” and could “take enemies by surprise”.

The Commander of Iran’s Navy Admiral Sajjad Kouchaki told state television that the missile was test-fired from a submarine.

The naval war-games are taking place in the Persian Gulf.
