The presence of the occupiers in Afghanistan has created fear. Their departure will bring back tranquillity and stability to the region, Irans Vice-President for Executive Affairs Ali Saeedlou said on the sidelines of a summit of leaders of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization nations being held in the Tajikistani capital Dushanbe.
A former deputy director of the Defence Industries Organisation affiliated to the Ministry of Defence, Saeedlou was the chief representative of the Ministry of Intelligence and Security (secret police) in the Ministry of Commerce, and a former staff member of the Supreme National Security Council.
In 2005, hard-line Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad nominated Saeedlou for the post of Oil Minister, but Irans Majlis (Parliament) rejected his candidacy.
