Tehran, Iran, Jan. 06 – In yet another snub to the United Nations Security Council which has demanded that Iran halt all uranium enrichment activities, Tehran has announced that it plans to set up a “uranium enrichment university faculty”.

The announcement came on Thursday by the head of the Atomic Energy Organisation of Iran (AEOI) Gholam-Reza Aghazadeh.

Aghazadeh told a group of Iranian filmmakers that due to the secretive nature of uranium enrichment the activity was not taught in universities across the world, the government-owned news agency Mehr reported. He added, however, that a new Faculty of Uranium Enrichment would soon be launched in Tehran’s Industrial (Sharif) University.

On December 23, the Security Council unanimously adopted Resolution 1737 to slap sanctions on Tehran and once again demanded it suspend all uranium enrichment activities.
