Tehran, Iran, Jan. 11 – At least 14 people were killed when a bus collided with a truck in central Iran, state television reported on Thursday.

The report said the accident occurred on the Arak-Malayer Highway Wednesday night.

Sixteen others were seriously injured and taken to a nearby hospital.

Iran’s highways are considered to be among the most dangerous in the world, with some 100,000 road-accident deaths occurring in the last five years, the equivalent of three deaths an hour.
