TEHRAN, Iran (AP) — Iran's Foreign Ministry has dismissed concerns about how much fissile material Iran has by saying the country does not plan to develop a nuclear weapon.

Foreign Ministry spokesman Hasan Qashqavi's comments Monday come a day after the top U.S. military official said Iran has sufficient material for a nuclear weapon.

Iran says its nuclear program is focused on producing electricity, not weapons.

Qashqavi implied that even if Iran wanted to convert its enriched uranium into weapons-grade fuel, it would be difficult under the watchful eye of international nuclear inspectors.

The spokesman for the Joint Chiefs of Staff chairman, Adm. Mike Mullen, says that Mullen was referring to the International Atomic Energy Agency's finding that Iran has processed 2,222 pounds of low-enriched uranium.
