Tehran, Apr. 06 – Iran's nuclear chief announced that Tehran would reveal further nuclear progress on the nation's annual National Day of Nuclear Technology.

Ali Akbar Salehi, who heads the Atomic Energy Organisation of Iran (AEOI), on Monday said: "On Friday, concurrent with the National Day of Nuclear Technology, a number of our country's achievements would be unveiled in the presence of the president". His comments were carried by the state-run Fars news agency.

Targeting international pressures against Iran and proposed further sanctions over its nuclear defiance, Salehi reiterated, "Self-reliance in this (nuclear) industry requires doubled and multiplied activities and needs double the endeavours and high self-confidence if we intend to be in a good position".

In demanding the doubling of efforts and endeavours to "make up for the rough political and international conditions created by the West against Iran", Salehi emphasised that Iran will be making significant nuclear developments public this Friday.

Salehi did not mention in which areas these developments had occurred.

The West has long accused Iran of breaching its nuclear obligations and forging ahead with a nuclear weapons program. Proposed further sanctions against Iran are due to be announced in the coming weeks or months.
