Washington, Sep. 09 – A previously-undisclosed Iranian nuclear site will be unveiled on Thursday, potentially causing further embarrassment to Tehran which on Tuesday ticked the UN atomic watchdog for a report critical of its lack of cooperation with international inspectors.

The information, coming from the main Iranian opposition group, the People’s Mojahedin Organisation of Iran (PMOI/MEK), will be announced at a press conference in Washington DC organised by the Iran Policy Committee.

“The information will include precise information on the location and details, progress-to-date, as well as experts, military commanders, and companies involved in building this site”, the IPC said in a statement, adding that the source of the new information had also provided the previous intelligence on the Natanz uranium enrichment facility and the Arak heavy-water plant in 2002 and other more recent disclosures by the PMOI.

The Iranian opposition was the first to blow the whistle on the Natanz and Arak sites and subsequently made a string of stunning revelations on other nuclear sites in Iran, triggering the inspection of Iranian nuclear sites by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and leading to four sets of sanctions resolutions by the UN Security Council.

The IPC said the press conference would be held at 10 am on Thursday, 9 September 2010 in the Holeman Lounge, National Press Club, 529 14th St. NW, Washington DC.
