China’s Foreign Ministry said Tuesday it is sending a delegation led by Assistant Foreign Minister Ma Zhaoxu to Turkey for Saturday’s talks.
The talks involving Iran and the five permanent U.N. Security Council nations plus Germany are the first direct negotiations on Tehran’s nuclear program since a swift collapse more than 14 months ago.
The ministry says China urges all parties to show flexibility and sincerity in the dialogue and remain patient about resolving the issue through negotiation.
