Tehran, Iran, Feb. 03 – Iran’s hard-line President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad vowed on Friday that the Islamic Republic would pursue its nuclear program “to the end”, adding that Tehran would never back down in the face of international pressure.

“Our stance regarding peaceful nuclear activities is completely clear. We operate in the framework of international regulations and at the same time we will defend our rights and will pursue this path to the end”, Ahmadinejad told reporters in Bushehr.

The hard-line president said that nuclear-armed powers were forcing “scientific apartheid” in the world.

He said that the West was “dreaming” that it could still order around countries “like in the Middle Ages”. “If they don’t wake up, the nations’ will slap them awake”.

“They say that they do not trust us, while we ourselves do not trust them”, he said.

Addressing Western nations, Ahmadinejad said, “It is you who must win our trust”.
